Where is the best place to play this shot, and how to get the golf ball to spin and stop when it lands on the green?

Position the ball in forward of centre of your stance ; tilt your sternum slightly to make it easier to get the face of your club downward into the ball. You play this shot with a backspin. This is where you put your lead hand up a long body once you swing to your V at your release point. After you strike it, it will land softly in your landing area. It should be 75% on the green and 25% to hop hop, then stop near the flag. A flop shot should be played similarly to a bunker shot. The only difference is that the bunker is mainly played with backspin, and the flop shot is played the same. Always take a few rehearsal swings first.
