You understand the different ways to play this type of shot with the correct ball position and the proper swing motion, you need to realize their is a club in you bag that create more spin than any other club this is your sand wedge because there is more bottom weight on the sole of this club, how to get the ball to spin and how it reacts on the green. The ball should be positioned on an ordinary lie and centre stance. This is where you have to understand your landings area. You decide where you want the ball to land knowing what the ball is going to do; we recommend using a pitching wedge; you'll land it on the green 50% of the way from the flag, and 50% of it'll roll to the hole. Always take a few rehearsal swings to feel the club skip and bounce of grass and this will soften your hands before you take the shot.
