Stop shanking the ball.

video 1

Learn why you are shanking the ball and how to fix it by understanding; your golf club and what your hands and arms are doing in the swing.

You should know what caused you to shank because the ball is too close, your arms are swinging, and the heel of your hand is leading, coming into the ball with your elbow coming away from your body when you start to rotate toward your target. It's the heel of the club that strikes the ball first. How to stop this is you should have your weight on the arches of your feet, tilt your chest back, swing the club outward, playing a draw shot. You can do this by using your hands in your golf swing, and practising hitting draws— using ping pong balls first. Take rehearsal swings to get the popper feeling back in your hands.
