Week 7 Q &A 742 ANSWER Q IN YOUR OWN WORDS FOR OUR WEEKLEY MEETING
Q. 1 Are you advised to transfer weight from your back foot to your front in your golf swing?
A. Explain in your own words your understanding of this?
If you transfer the weight doing this, you will slice the ball if you move your weight from the back foot to the front foot. Your weight should be on the inside of your back foot, with a slight tilt on your chest; set your hip forward in your stance, swing your hands down to your release point, and then your weight will end up on your front heel with balance naturally.
Q. 2 Are you advised with your fairway woods to hit up on the back of the ball?
A. Explain how you used your woods playing golf shots in your own words?
If you try and hit up on the back of the ball, one of two things will happen you will hit the ground too soon or top the ball. You need to understand that the centre of gravity on the ball is in the middle of the ball, and the weight on the wood is in the sole plate. This is the bottom of the club. This means you need to strike below the quarter of the ball, which is the centre of the ball, to create backspin for the ball to lift in the air, so you need to learn to skip the club of the ground exactly at the back of the ball this is done by using your hands and wrist in your golf swing. in your set up you need to tilt back slity to come into the ball shallower this will give you more hight so if you play the ball farward in your stance imaigine you are swinging the club from your hip this will give you maximum height with all your clubs.
Q. 3 are you advised to keep your shoulder square to the target when you address the ball?
A. Explain in your own words your undestanding of this?
If you keep your square, you will start swinging over the top, creating a big slice; it would help if you close the shoulders slightly, letting you backhand lower the shoulder so you can swing out to the right side for a soft draw in all golf shots you have to swing across your chest.
Q. 4 Are you advised to hit up on the ball when you hit your driver for the maximum distance of the tee?
A. Explain in your own words how you hit your driver.
When you discover the five different ways to spin the golf ball, you can put whatever spin you like on the ball, knowing what will happen from the shot you play. When you realise that if you hit up on the ball, this creates an over spin, and the ball will dive into the ground. Do you want that to happen? It will help if you swing your driver downward shallow below the equater like diving into the swimming pool coming up on your release point in the golf swing, so you get maximum backspin to get more distance control with straighter golf shots.
Q.5 Are you advised to try and guide the club towards the target for more accuracy with your golf shots?
A. Explain in your own words your understanding of this?
If you try and guide the club, you will start shaking the golf ball. Instead, it would help to discover how to curve the ball to your target with right and left spin, or left to right spin and how much it curves and spins, you can control that. Don’t ever try hit the ball right to right to fade the ball, or left to left to draw the ball you just need to work the ball in from the left side or the right side to your target. Discover what makes you hit good golf shots.
