Week 9 Q & A 901
Q. 1 Are you advised in putting, you need to let your shoulders rock to roll the ball properly to the hole?
A. Explain in your own words your understanding of this?
If you let your shoulders rock, you will have no feel for distance control to get the ball close to the hole. It would help if you got a grip that fits in your hands and fingers naturally and get the right length shaft for your height, so it naturally hangs off your arms. You also need to understand the correct loft on your putter. Most amateurs don’t have the correct loft on their putter because the ball rolls too fast on the greens. If you are an average golfer, you need a putter that can move the ball slower for you to have feelings also need to hold in your fingers to touch everything you do in life; you need sensitive touch to be able to roll the ball with over spin. a practice drill to do is set up as normal you have to hit the ball with over spin pick a spot you going to roll the ball over at six inches in front of the ball
don’t look at ball look at the spot you want the ball to roll over and trust it.
Q. 2 Are you advised to grip the club in your hands to have more power in your swing?
Explain this in your own words your understand of this.
Did you know there are two different types of grips that golfers use? One is a powerful grip that 90% of amateurs use, and the other is a speed grip that professionals use. If you want more distance, spin, and control you must discover the speed grip to get a full release in your golf swing. It would be best if you let the shaft of the club cradle in your hands to have the speed in your fingers to generate spin and curve on the ball the way you want. When you take a few rehearsal swings, you will feel the soft feeling of speed in your golf swing. Also try out undersize soft rubber grips so it eaisier for you to grip the club in your fingers to creat more speed.
Q. 3 Are you advised you need to feel the shaft of your club swinging to the target in your golf swing?
A. Explain your understanding of this in your own words.
you need to swing the shaft going down to the release point the mometum will take the shaft up and forward to the finish of your swing. If feel the club's shaft in your golf swing you are arm swinging; it will help if you start to feel your club's head. The only way to do this is to start holding the club in your fingers, so it locks into the heel pad of your hand, letting the club move naturally because it’s engineered to go down the middle every time, and if you try and control it you will stop this from happening.
Q. 4 Are you advised to hold the club in the same position in your hand for your golf shots?
A. Explain this in your own words how you understand this.
If you do this, it restricts what kind of shots you can play. It would be great for you to go to the practice area and experiment with holding the club up and down the shaft; this will give you a wide variety of shots. You can practice seeing what happens when you hit high and low shots and try all sorts of shots. You must realise that the club is an instrument, so you must hold and play like one. Golf is a game of adjustments and different situations. By experimenting in the practice area, you will have seen and done before so that it won’t be a problem on the course.
note Never go into a shot with your right hand on the club because it give you a different angle to your target when you put your left hand on.
Alyays go into the shot with left hand only it give you the line you want to launch the ball on.
Q. 5 Are you told that you are standing too close to the ball when you shank the ball?
A. Explain in your own words what you understand about this.
One of the reasons you are shaking the ball is using your arms and leading with the side of your hand, swinging the club through the shot. Also, your right arm comes away from your body and opens up the club face, so it hits the hosel part of the club and shoots straight right of the target. You can not shank the ball if you close the club face and tilt your chest weight on the inside of the back heel. You will feel like you only swing outwards and away from your body. An excellent exercise for stopping shaking the ball is to get your right hand underneath the grip and hit some shots that way so you will start hitting the ball left to continue doing this for a while and then start moving back to normal grip.
